Can armature wire be fired?
As an addition, you may want to consider our hand-made armatures for the head, head-bust and/or figure. If using moist (ceramic/pottery) clay, please note, the armature wire cannot be put in a kiln during firing. The clay will shrink but the wire will not, resulting in cracking and/or breakage.
Is Kanthal carcinogenic?
No one else may find this interesting, but I’ve done some research on the safety of heating kanthal wire. I had read somewhere that those who worked with kanthal could be exposed to dangerous fumes resultant in various side effects up to and including death, nothing carcinogenic but highly worrisome.
