What is a chromatic scale? Chromatic scales are the scales that includes all twelve tones in sequential order: A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, and G#/Ab. Chromatic scales can start from any of the twelve tones, so there are twelve different iterations or inversions of the scale.
