What is Plasti goop?
Patti-Goop works like Plasti-goop, which is a liquid plastic made for baking in Creepy Crawler molds, so that you can make your own toys. It comes from the same manufacturer as Mattel used in the 1960’s.
Was PlastiGoop toxic?
Creepy Crawlers The burns would be bad enough, but the chemical gel (PlastiGoop) used for the original crawlers also gave off toxic fumes. A revival in 1978 with new, safer formulas and plastic (not metal) molds didn’t do as well, because kids crave danger.

I’d grown up with the original Creepy Crawlers sets in the 70s, and knew that they were a ton of fun. The set was a hit, and my son still plays around with it (at 10). Yes, the modern version is lightbulb driven (no character-building hot metal plates to teach them common sense :P).
