I quite like this poem as it reminds me of the 1950’s French film, ‘Orpheus’ / ‘Orphée’, by Jean Cocteau, which for the time was a modernised version of the myth based on a famous poet who becomes obsessed with death. The poem give us a completely different take on the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus which is traditionally an epic love story.
