What is Virmp?
The Veterinary Internship and Residency Match Program (VIRMP) is the mechanism by which the majority of programs identify applicants and applicants identify and apply to programs.
How much does Virmp cost?
The application fee is based on the number of programs to which you apply: 10 programs or less: $90.00. 11 to 20 programs: $250.00. 21 or more programs: $350.00.
How does the Virmp work?
The VIRMP is designed to create an optimal match between internship/residency candidates and available programs. It does this by asking candidates to rank the programs they’re applying to (in order of preference), while simultaneously asking programs to rank the applicants that they would be willing to accept.
What is Match Day veterinary?
Match Day is the day that soon-to-be veterinary school graduates find out if they have been accepted into a post-grad training program of their choice. In other words, if they’ve “matched” with one of the training programs they want to be in.
What is a personal statement for internship?
The statement is a way for the organization to review your interests and to determine your motivation for applying for the fellowship/internship. The personal statement is the organization first look at your writing skills and it should be written with excellent grammar, clarity and spelling.
What is a resident in veterinary?
A residency is a period of training lasting for at least 3 years in a particular discipline, such as internal medicine, anaesthesia, or clinical pathology. During this time, you will see cases referred by other vets with the support and supervision of specialists in the same discipline.
What is Ecfvg?
The Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates® (ECFVG®) certification program is accepted by all state veterinary regulatory boards and the federal government as meeting, either in part or full, the educational prerequisite for licensure or certain types of employment.
