What is SPX backup?
An SPX backup image file is a point-in-time representation of a computer volume. It is not a standard file copy of the volume, but rather a sector-by-sector duplicate of the volume. To recover data, SPX can mount a backup image file (using its Mount utility) to access its contents as if it were a regular volume.
